RIA Launches Public Procurements for Nearly Half a Billion BGN
Road Infrastructure Agency launched tender procedures for construction for BGN 425 million excluding VAT. Public procurements for construction of 33 km of road I-1 between Mezdra and Botevgrad were opened and for more than 6 km from Sofia Ring Road – from Tsarigradsko shose road junction to Mladost road junction. The projects will be implemented with funds from the national budget.
The construction of the Vidin – Botevgrad road will start from one of the most complex sections of Mezdra – Botevgrad, which is 33 km long. The indicative value of the public procurement is nearly BGN 302 million excluding VAT. The section is divided in two lots. Lot 1 is from km 174 + 800 to km 194 + 122 and Lot 2 from km 161 + 367 to km 174 + 800.
The section will be with two carriageways with two traffic lanes in each direction, with a gauge of 20 m. The alignment will follow the existing road, as it develops on new terrain in the sections bypassing the villages of Lyuti dol, Tipchenitsa, Novachene and Skravena. A number of facilities will be built and repaired – above the railroad Mezdra – Sofia, bridges over the Iskar River, Malata Reka, Kalnitza, Bebresh, Rudarka, as well as a road junction near the village of Novachene. The intersections of national and municipal roads will take place through roundabouts Mezdra, Durmantsi, Rebarkovo, Lyuti dol, Skravena and Botevgrad. It is planned to build agricultural overpasses, recreational areas, and so on. Two tunnels with lengths of 490 m and 340 m respectively will be built at the bypass of village Lyuti dol.
For the section of road I-1 (E-79) Mezdra – Botevgrad, Lot 2, from km 161 + 367 to km 174 + 800, the indicative value of the public procurement for additional design and construction is BGN 178 800 000 excluding VAT. The implementation period is 1096 days, of which 180 days for design and 916 days for construction.
Bidders may submit their offers by 17.30 h on June 4, 2018.
For the section of road I-1 (E-79) Mezdra – Botevgrad, Lot 1, from km 174+800 to km 194+122, the indicative value of the public procurement for additional design and construction is 123 000 000 BGN without VAT. The implementation period is 1096 days, of which 180 days for design and 916 days for construction.
Bidders may submit their offers by 17.30 h on 28 May 2018.
The Vidin – Botevgrad direction (167 km) is a priority project in the investment program of RIA and MRDPW until 2022, as with the overall homogenization and modernization of the route from the Danube Bridge 2, a quick and convenient connection between the Hemus, Trakia and Struma motorway will be provided. With the implementation of the project, the transit traffic will be taken out of the settlements, which will increase the traffic safety and will limit the harmful effects of noise and environmental pollution from the intensive heavy traffic.
The public procurement was opened for the design and construction of Sofia Ring Road (road II-18) in the section from km 35 + 260 to km 41 + 340. This is the section from Tsarigradsko shose road junction to Mladost road junction. Its total length is 6.08 km. The project will be implemented entirely with funds from the state budget. Its indicative value is BGN 123 million excluding VAT.
Bidders may submit their offers by 17.30 h on 11 June 2018.
The beginning of the project section is at km 35+260, which is shortly after the end of the road junction at the crossing of Tsarigradsko shosse Blvd. and Sofia Ring Road. The end is at km 41+340, where the section will be connected with the Sofia Ring Road section which was reconstructed in 2012. The section will be with two carriageways each one of which with 3 traffic lanes in direction, central reserve, dividing strips between the locals and the direct route, 2 local carriageways and sidewalks. The intersection of Sofia Ring Road with the major roads in the area will be realized through 4 road junctions – Star Lozenski Put road junction, Patriarch German road junction, Samokovsko shose road junction and Mladost junction. Three pedestrian overpasses and bridges over the Iskar River and the Kalna River will be built. Reconstruction of water mains, sewerage and gas distribution network, as well as displacement of engineering facilities, telecommunications, etc. is foreseen.
The implementation period is 910 calendar days, of which 180 days for design and 730 days for construction.
The implementation of the project will facilitate the transit traffic and the connection between the Struma and Trakia motorways.
