Minister Pavlova and Eng. Lazarov Inspected the Construction Works on Maritza Motorway
The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova and the Chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency eng. Lazar Lazarov inspected the construction works under Lot 1 and Lot 2 of Maritza motorway. The two of them expressed their satisfaction with the visible progress of the Project for the last three weeks.
There were over 70 workers led by a team of 15 archeologists at the archeological excavations at Lot 1 of Maritza Motorway. According to the head of the archeological research – archeologist Stanimir Stoychev their activity was coming to its end, the terrain being almost fully studied and they will complete the research by the end of the month.
A lot of efforts are invested in the completion of the bridge over the Maritza River and of the remaining large-sized structures. If the working pace is maintained, the section from Dimitrovgrad to Trakia motorway – Lot 1 may be completed by the end of October.
Finishing activities are implemented at Lot 2 – the section from Dimitrovgrad to the border at Kapitan Andreevo. Crash-barriers and markings – horizontal and vertical are being placed at it and the fencing meshes are being assembled. The site builders assured Minister Pavlova that the section will be fully completed by the end of the month.
The Project is cо-financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and the national budget under Operational Program Transport 2007-2013.
