Eng. Lazarov Inspected the Progress of Struma Motorway Construction
The deputy prime minister and minister of the Regional Development and Investment Planning, Ekaterina Zaharieva, the minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications, Nikolina Angelkova, and the chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency, eng. Lazar Lazarov, have inspected the progress of the construction of lot 2 Dupnitsa – Blagoevgrad of Struma motorway from km 322+000 to km 359+483.52 and of lot 4 Sandanski – Kulata from km 423+800 to km 438+500.
The Projects are cо-financed by the EU Cohesion Fund and the national budget through Operational Program Transport 2007 – 2013.
The construction of lot 2 of Struma motorway takes place within the term fixed with good organization, deputy prime minister Zaharieva announced. Hard work is done on lot 2 for the execution of small structures, the embankments, the big structures in all the sections as well as on the two tunnels.
We expect the contractor of lot 4 to accept by Friday the conditions we placed for them to make the three kilometers up to Kulata from road junction Petrich for a month, to present an optimized schedule for the completion of one carriageway of the motorway from Sandanski to road junction Petrich and deadline for the execution of the entire Contract, eng. Lazarov emphasized.
The section from Dupnitsa to Blagoevgrad, with a length of 37,48 km, is on the territory of the regions of Kyustendil and Blagoevgrad. CONSORTIUM STRUMA-LOT 2, which the following participate in: Impresa JSC, Italy, GBS Infrastructure Construction AD, Bulgaria, and Patstroy – 92 AD, Bulgaria, is the Contractor of the Design and Construction Contract. The value of the Contract is 358 722 000 BGN, VAT included. The construction supervision is exercised by DZZD ASSOCIATION STRUMA-PP, which Patinvestengineering AD and Patproject EOOD – city of Sofia participate in. Their Contract is in the amount of 2 949 843 BGN, VAT included.
The route of lot 4 from Sandanski to Kulata is with a length of 14,7 km. AKTOR ASD is the Contractor of the construction. The value of the Contract is 67 176 000 BGN, VAT included. The construction supervision is exercised by Patinvestengineering AD. The Supervision Contract is in the amount of 356 419,20 BGN, VAT included.
The total length of Struma motorway – from Daskalovo to the border with Greece, is 150 km. It is a part of Pan-European Corridor No IV and of the Trans-European North – South Motorway. The construction of 68,9 km is financed by funds of Operational Program Transport 2007-2013. The construction of lot 1 Dolna Dikanya – Dupnitsa (16,78 km) was completed during the month of July last year.
